Mini and micro wind farm components

Small and very small (micro) wind plants have a limited visual and environmental impact, and are therefore used alone or coupled with photovoltaic panels to produce electricity in a manner that is sustainable, scalable and compatible with the environment in urban settings.
The use in urban areas requires more stringent requirements with regard to turbine start-up and operation speed, the ability to exploit unstable currents – typical of the urban environment – and the sound emissions, which must not cause discomfort to residents.
The certification of the components of mini and micro wind plants, such as inverters, special cables, control systems, assures the performance and efficiency parameters.

ICIM, the first body in Italy, has developed in the sector of components and plants a certification scheme in accordance with the series of Standards EN IEC 61400, which ensures that the requirements and performance and efficiency parameters are met.
